writing a novel, the author's 'voice' is his unique identity, often
developed over many millions of words. It may engage you into the plot,
enrapture you with dialogue or alternately make you want to throw the
book into the bin!

Similarly
when it comes to photography, the eye and the mind of the photographer
develop cultivating a style that, taken to the extreme, can be so unique
that it becomes his trademark.
